Lal Kitab is an over simplification of Jyotish (Parashara’s astrology) when it comes to deriving planetary disposition and remedial recommendations. Remedial recommendations in Lal Kitab are just a compilation of tantrik remedies scattered all over India.
Lal Kitab is so simple that it ceases to be useless if one wants to make predictions looking at a horoscope. To Lal Kitab’s credit, it does not claim to be original but does acknowledges the fact that it compilation of existing knowledge.
I study Astrology, as a hobby. I normally study charts, as per Vedic Astrology, but study & keep a track of other methods, also. These may be better called 'totakas' (shortcuts, based on experience, or hunch, although there is underlying logic, also). My experience with these is that these do not work, or even in many cases, work to disadvantage.
Lal Kitab has no connection with vedas. Its origin is not 100 % confirmed but many people believe that Ravan ( of the epic Ramayan fame ) is its original author. The language ( words, spirit and sentence pattern ) is also very odd and alien whether you read it in Hindi or English. It is very difficult to understand and follow the real intended meaning and sense.
Lal Kitab is a remarkable branch of Vedic astrology. Collection of the 5 books, written during the period of 1939-1952 is called Lal Kitab. Written in ancient Urdu language, first time in the history of astrology, Lal Kitab introduced a new style of horoscope analysis with quick and affordable remedies.
